In late March 2026, something powerful stirred in Costa Rica. Leaders, servants, and young people gathered for the nation’s first Explore camp — an event designed to awaken hearts to God’s mission and inspire a new generation of workers for the harvest. As one leader reflected, “For the glory of God, we have witnessed an awakening… young people challenged not only in their service but also in their walk with Him.”

From March, 27the Costa Rica North District hosted this historic event, formerly known as the Cross‑Cultural Orientation Camp (CCO). Twenty‑nine participants from the Costa Rica North and Central Districts attended, joined by a delegation of four from Nicaragua. Their time together was shaped by teaching, hands‑on activities, and workshops focused on global missions and the urgent need for laborers.

The camp was strengthened by the collaboration of communications coordinators, the regional NMI coordinator, and the Missions Mobilization coordinator for the Central Field — all lending leadership and support to make the event possible.

A key voice throughout Explore was Elba Duson, the district’s Missions Mobilization coordinator. For her, leading this event was deeply personal. She shared how Explore had once marked her own life, and how saying “yes” to bringing it to Costa Rica felt like a calling from God. She described how the Lord guided every detail — multiplying time, resources, ideas, and surrounding her with a passionate team eager to bless the local church.

Elba’s testimony reflects the heart of the entire event: God is moving, and Costa Rica is responding. “We believe that great things are coming for Costa Rica,” she said, “and we long to be part of what God will continue to do.”

As Explore Costa Rica concluded, leaders expressed confidence that the seeds planted will grow. The prayer is simple and bold — that God will raise up a generation of workers willing to serve Him fervently and faithfully.
